TWO-HOUR PREMIERE Catch Up: It's a year and a half later and Jack Bauer works for the United States
Secretary of Defense, James Heller. He's also romantically involved with Heller's daughter, Audrey Raines, who's in the process
of a divorce. The Field Ops Director (Jack's replacement) is Ronnie Lobell. Head of CTU is Erin Driscoll who's cold and hard
and seems to rub some the wrong way. Today is Jack's first visit back to CTU after his boss, Heller, dispatches him to CTU
to find more about a train bomb that occurred earlier that morning. Chloe receives a call from her computer whiz friend, Andrew,
who's hacked into a covert system that could take down the whole Internet. Chloe tells Driscoll that she suspects the train
bombing was a diversion from a bigger hit that's to take place at 8:00am but Driscoll dismisses her. Meanwhile, Andrew discovers
all his co-workers have been shot dead by terrorists. He races away on his bike, the terrorists hot on his trail. The Araz
family - Niva, his wife Dina and their son, Behrooz, have received a briefcase delivered to them from the train bombsite.
Behrooz is to deliver the briefcase to Niva's collaborators in an underground compound. Dina explains to Behrooz that their
mission is crucial.
What's Up With Jack: Agent Lobell is raiding a launder mat suspected of aiding the perpetrators of the train bomb.
Jack is meeting with Driscoll and watches with her as the raid unfolds on the screen before them. Jack notices details missed
by everyone else and the suspects are captured. When the suspect is brought into CTU Jack tells Driscoll that he's sure this
guy has information into where the main hit is going to be and he pleads with Dricoll to let him interrogate him. Driscoll
refuses. Jack bursts into the interrogation room, shoots the suspect in the leg and demands to know the true target. The suspect
reveals the target is James Heller. With that Driscoll dispatches teams to Heller's location, his son Richard's house, and
Jack frantically phones Audrey to warn her. Just then a missile shoots into the neighborhood and chaos erupts. Jack hears
Audrey screaming on his phone. Driscoll detains Jack. Chloe brings him the information she has and the two of them call Andrew.
Andrew is at the train station preparing to leave town. Jack tells him to stay put and he'll come pick him up.
What's
Up With Richard (Heller's Son): Richard is against the work his father does and has a protest scheduled for that day.
His dad visits him, trying to get his son to understand his work. The two heatedly argue, but stop when Audrey, Richard's
sister, interrupts them. Audrey tells James that he has an urgent call outside. Richard waits inside for his dad to return
so they can finish their discussion. Just then he hears an explosion and watches from the window and his dad and sister are
thrown into a van. Later, agents storm into the house finding Richard huddled on the floor crying and telling them his dad
and sister have been kidnapped. He's taken to CTU for interrogation.
What's Up With Driscoll: Driscoll doesn't
trust Jack and resents the fact that he's involving himself in CTU business. Jack urges her to temporarily reinstate him so
he can aid in this investigation. Driscoll reluctantly does so, but he is to only assist agent Lobell.
What's Up
With Behrooz: Behrooz realizes his mission is a crucial one. When his girlfriend Debbie calls him Dina tells him he must
end their relationship. Behrooz drives to the compound and uses the phone on the outside of a locked fence. A man arrives
to take the briefcase from him, telling Behrooz he's done a good job. As Behrooz walks to his car he sees that Debbie has
followed him. He tells her that he wants to work out their relationship and that the problem is his parents don't want him
dating a non-Muslim. He doesn't realize he's seen talking to her. Later, he approaches his father and Niva slaps him, chiding
him for talking to Debbie at the compound. Behrooz tries to explain that Debbie didn't see anything and doesn't know anything
but Niva won't hear it. He tells Behrooz to phone her and have her come over.
What's Up With Andrew: After finding
his coworkers dead, Andrew phones his mother and warns her to get out of the house because people are after him. Afterwards
he heads to the train station where he receives Chloe's call. Unbeknownst to him, Jack and Chloe one of the terrorists has
entered Andrew's home and killed his mother. He's now on a laptop monitoring Andrew's conversation with Jack and knows that
Andrew will be waiting for Jack to pick him up at track 3. Andrew waits at for Jack at track 3, becomes impatient and calls
Chloe, asking where he is. She tells him he's on his way. Just then he's approached by a man who, when Andrew asks, claims
he's Jack Bauer. The two head to the parking lot.
What's Up With Lobell: Lobell isn't happy that Jack will be
accompanying him on his missions. He tells Jack that he's in charge and if Jack gives him a problem he'll stop him cold. The
two arrive at the train station to pick up Andrew and find that he isn't waiting at track 3 as he was told. Jack calls Andrew
and asks where he is. Andrew's confused to hear a man claiming to be Jack on the other end of the line. Just then, the guy
he's with pokes a gun into his stomach and tells him to move. He ties his hands & feet, tapes his mouth and tells him
to lie down in the back seat of a car. They're driving out of the train station as Jack and Lobell race to find them. They
spot their car stopped in traffic and Lobell begins to head over. Jack tells him to stop, that they have to follow them to
find out who's running the operation. The two scuffle and Lobell ends up handcuffing Jack to a pipe. Then he heads for the
car again. The terrorist is very aware of his surroundings and spots Lobell quickly shooting him and a security guard; he
then speeds away. Jack coaxes a dying Lobell to throw him the keys; just before he dies he's able to. Jack gets into their
car and follows the terrorist holding Andrew hostage.
Season 4: Episode 3: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
The Scoop: Jack trails Kalil, the terrorist holding Andrew; Chloe scrambles to help Jack in order to
save Andrew's life; Driscoll wants Jack taken into custody as soon as possible.
What's Up With Jack: Jack disregards
Driscoll's orders to stop Kalil and bring him and Andrew into CTU, hoping that by following them he'll find out where Heller
is being held. He convinces Chloe to secretly help him track Kalil by satellite. Kalil brings Andrew to a deserted area where
some of his cronies are waiting. He beats Andrew to get information from him as Jack watches from a position up the hill.
Chloe has them on satellite and sees Andrew getting beat up. Kalil, convinced that Andrew has told them everything, phones
Omar who tells him to get back to the compound immediately. Kalil leaves Andrew for his cronies to kill and dispose of his
body. Chloe watches as the men continue to beat Andrew and prepare to shoot him. Jack's able to take both men out and spare
Andrew's life. He continues to trail Kalil and urges Chloe to keep them on satellite. Kalil pulls into a convenience store
as Chloe tells Jack that she's run out of satellite time. Jack needs to figure out a way to keep Kalil at the store as Chloe
works on getting the satellite back up. Jack grabs his gun and a facemask, then heads into the store and stages a hold-up.
What's Up With Richard Heller: Because of Richard's polygraph test results, Driscoll's convinced that he's
hiding something. She orders Curtis to get Richard to tell them everything using any methods necessary. Curtis is reluctant
but brings in the head torturer who has a briefcase full of needles in order to get Richard to talk. Even when the guy is
just about to administer a shot that will deliver tremendous pain to every one of Richard's nerves, he only screams and denies
knowing anything more. Curtis stops the torturer and leaves to tell Driscoll that he's uncomfortable with this whole torture
thing and suggests a more non-invasive method. Hence, Richard is strapped down, blindfolded and has earphones placed on his
head that carries a constant and horrific tone. Richard thinks the sensory torture has been going on for 4 or 5 hours when
it's only been 30 minutes. Regardless, he only screams and refuses to give up any information.
What's Up With Curtis:
Aside from drilling Richard, Curtis gets a phone call from Marianne, a former lover, who's upset that Curtis didn't recommend
her to assist CTU with it's investigation. She calls Driscoll and arrives at CTU a short while later. Curtis is clearly annoyed
and unhappy with the situation. Marianne is clearly determined to move up the CTU ladder and has her eyes and ears on everybody…especially
Chloe.
What's Up With Behrooz: Behrooz tells Dina that Debbie followed him and that now Niva wants him to get
Debbie over to take care of the situation. Dina calls Niva and they both agree that Debbie needs to be taken care of. She
tells Behrooz that he doesn't have to invite Debbie over, but then she calls Debbie and asks her for the visit. Dina tells
Behrooz she just wants to find out what Debbie knows and if she told anyone of the compound, nothing more.
What's
Up With Heller: Omar presents Heller with a document listing the offenses he's being tried for. When Heller refuses to
sign it Omar's henchmen grab Audrey and put a knife to her throat. Heller's forced to sign it in order to save his daughter's
life. Later, Heller whispers to Audrey that as soon as his trial begins she may have a chance to escape and she must take
it.
Season 4: Episode 4: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
The Scoop: As Chloe works to get the satellite tracking up, Jack holds up a convenience store in order
to keep Kalil from leaving; Chloe's mission to help Jack is about to be discovered; Behrooz's girlfriend Debbie visits with
him and Dina.
What's Up With Jack: Posing as a bandit, Jack holds one woman and three men - one being Kalil
- hostage. He takes everyone's cell phone and Kalil's gun and locks the front door. He continually calls Chloe to find out
the status of the satellite. Telling his hostages that he's waiting for the armored truck to deliver more money, he ushers
them all into the freezer. Kalil tries to stop him by spraying bug spray at him but Jack's too quick. A cop tries to enter
the store and Jack has the clerk tell him that he's closed and doing inventory. The cop doesn't believe him so Jack grabs
the cop, disarms him and takes his radio and puts him into the freezer with the others. He tells the cop to respond to his
radio and the clerk yells that they're being robbed, alerting other officers to the scene. By the time Chloe gets the satellite
up, LAPD has the store surrounded. Jack tells Chloe to keep Kalil on surveillance and then emerges from the store with Kalil,
holding the gun to his head. He orders Kalil into the driver seat of his car, Jack gets in the back and they speed away. He
has Kalil pull over and Jack gets into the driver's seat and drives off, hooking up his satellite surveillance camera in order
to keep track of Kalil. Minutes later, LAPD has Jack surrounded, he's ordered out of his car and on the ground.
What's
Up With Chloe: Chloe is doing her best to get the satellite back while keeping Driscoll and her co-workers off her back.
She enlists the help of Edgar assuring him that she'll take the fall if they get caught. On Driscoll's orders, Sarah's keeping
a close eye on Chloe and Marianne is keeping an eye on everyone. After the satellite tracking is working, Chloe's cover is
busted and Driscoll tells her she's fired. Chloe says she was going to quit anyway but Driscoll tells her she's also going
to jail.
What's Up With Driscoll: When Driscoll finally gets a hold of Jack she orders him back to CTU. Jack
refuses and urges her to keep watching Kalil. On the satellite screen they watch as Kalil pulls a pick-up truck over, knocks
the driver out and takes his cell phone. While driving away, Kalil immediately phones Omar. Since he's using somebody's personal
cell phone CTU is able to record the call. Omar is heard telling Kalil that Heller is being prepared for the broadcast of
his trial. Driscoll finally realizes that Jack was right all along.
What's Up With Heller: After Omar leaves
Heller and Audrey alone with a guard, Heller fakes a heart attack. Knowing that if he dies the mission will fail the guard
opens the gate. Heller attacks the guard and tells Audrey to run. She grabs a hammer and knocks the guard unconscious and
grabs his gun. Heller takes the gun and they begin to escape. Confronted by another guard Heller shoots him dead and takes
his machine gun. They continue running until men surrounding them on both sides stop them. Omar appears and tells Hellar that
if another one of his men dies, Audrey will too.
What's Up With Behrooz: Debbie is sitting on the couch with
him and talking to Dina. Dina is friendly and brings Debbie a glass of iced tea. Dina questions Debbie about her following
Behrooz earlier that morning. She explains that in order to curtail the threat of robbery, Behrooz's father moved his business
to that secret location. Debbie tells her she hasn't told and won't tell anybody about it. Dina excuses herself and tells
Behrooz to show Debbie his baby pictures. She phones Niva and tells him that the girl hasn't told anybody. They both agree
that she's still a threat and Behrooz must take care of the problem he created. Dina calls Behrooz over and opens a drawer
with a handgun in it. She tells Behrooz to take Debbie into the basement and kill her, and then she goes upstairs. Behrooz
whispers to Debbie that she's in danger and coaxes her to leave with him. Debbie begins stumbling and saying she doesn't feel
good. Then she falls to the floor, gasping. Dina comes down the stairs and tells Behrooz that she knew he wouldn't be able
to go through with it so she had to do it herself by poisoning the iced tea. Behrooz is holding the gun and looking at Dina
with hatred. She orders him to give her the gun, even hissing at him and he hands it over. She tells him she's very disappointed
in him and leaves him to take care of Debbie's body.
Season 4: Episode 5: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
January 17, 05 The Scoop: Driscoll confirms to LAPD that Jack is working
with CTU; Jack continues to trail Kalil, hoping to be brought to Heller; Heller and Audrey see only one way out of their circumstance.
What's Up With Jack: When Jack is taken out of custody, Driscoll begrudgingly puts him in charge of the field.
Jack has the police chief call off the APB on the stolen car Kalil is driving in order to ensure Jack can follow him to wherever
they're holding Heller. CTU has tapped into the phone Kalil's using and Jack hears Omar speaking to Kalil about the confession
Heller signed when they threatened Audrey's life. Knowing Audrey's still alive, Jack's more determined than ever to get to
her. He's driving behind Kalil when Kalil's pulled over by 3 thugs who harass him racially. An LAPD officer pulls over to
check out the scuffle, unaware of the underlying situation. Jack watches as the officer has his partner run Kalil's license
plate. The officer runs the plate and sees it's a stolen vehicle. Jack gets on his radio to make sure the APB was taken off
Kalil's vehicle. The officer approaches Kalil looking like he's about to arrest him. Then he gets the word and lets Kalil
go. Kalil looks suspicious and drives off with Jack following. Kalil phones Omar and tells him how he was let go and that
he's sure they're on to him. Listening, Jack realizes that Kalil needs to be apprehended immediately. Kalil tells Omar it's
been an honor working with him and Omar reciprocates. He hangs up and drives head on into an oncoming truck. Helpless, Jack
yells as Kalil's car bursts into flames.
What's Up With Chloe: Chloe is in a holding cell, expecting to be arrested.
Driscoll comes in and tells her if she offers her resignation she'll be let go without repercussions. Chloe readily agrees.
She's escorted out of CTU, assuring Edgar on her way out that she didn't drop his name. Before leaving she tells him he's
a geek but a good guy.
What's Up With Driscoll: Driscoll's schizophrenic daughter, Maya, arrives at CTU. Even
though Maya's distraught about her day she doesn't know what's going on with Heller. Maya's grateful to be with her mom and
the two hug each other.
What's Up With Behrooz: When Niva arrives home Dina shoots Debbie's dead body and forces
Behrooz to take the gun to make it look like Behrooz shot her. Niva comes in, sees the body and tells Behrooz he knows this
was hard for him. Later, Debbie's mother arrives at the house asking for Debbie. She hears Debbie's phone ringing inside but
Behrooz tells her it's his phone she heard ringing. Debbie's worried mom leaves uneasily. Navi orders Dina to follow the woman
to make sure she doesn't go to the police. Navi pats Behrooz's cheek approvingly and leaves him to take care of Debbie's body.
What's Up With Heller: Sitting back to back with Audrey, Heller tells her there's only one way the trial can
be stopped…and that's if he's dead. He wants Audrey to take the chain around her ankles and put it around his neck but
she won't do it. She tells him that there's a gas pipe they can break. Heller doesn't want Audrey to die with him, but Audrey
realizes the terrorists aren't going to let her live. They make their way over to the gas pipe and Audrey is able to break
it. They lean back against each other as the gas leaks out.
What's Up With Omar: Omar smells gas and he and
the guards find Audrey and Heller. They're able to revive them. As Audrey awakens she recognizes one of the guards, but Omar
doesn't care because she'll soon be dead. Heller is brought into a room with a camera as Omar and his men don scarves covering
their faces. The trial begins.
What's Up With President Keeler: Edgar has found the location of the compound.
The President's advisor tells him they've found the compound but that Heller will most likely be killed in the rescue attempt.
In addition, the broadcast of the trial will cause Heller and the whole country utter humiliation. Keeler's advised to hit
the compound with a missile, killing all inside and preventing the humiliation of the country. The public would be led to
believe Heller was killed during a rescue attempt. The president is reluctant but realizes it's their only choice. Meanwhile,
Jack has arrived at the site of the compound and is ready to go in. Driscoll alerts him that Keeler has ordered a preemptive
missile strike and it's happening at any minute. Jack is determined to save Audrey and Heller and despite Driscoll's warnings
to get out of the area immediately, Jack heads into the compound.
Season 4: Episode 6: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
January 24, 05 The Scoop: Jack raids the compound as the trial's broadcast internationally
on the Internet; Navi proves his commitment to their cause; a terrorist mole within CTU is revealed.
What's Up With
Jack: Driscoll calls President Keeler and asks him to hold off the missile strike on the compound because Jack's attempting
a rescue. Keeler gives him 7 minutes. Jack heads through the compound, holds his gun to one of the guard's head and makes
him tell where Heller is. Deeper inside, Jack hears Audrey. He finds her holding cell and gets her attention. She tells him
to get Heller first. Jack hands her a knife and tells her he'll come back for her. He finds the trial room and makes eye contact
with Heller. Just as Heller's about to be shot in the head, he flings himself backward. At the same time Jack shoots his way
into the room. He unties Heller, gives him a weapon and the two of them hurry to get Audrey. When they arrive at her cell
they find she's missing. Meanwhile, seeing that Heller's assassination has been thwarted, Keeler calls off the missile strike
and calls in the Marines. Jack and Heller shoot out with Omar's people as Marine helicopters fly in to aid. Omar comes out
with Audrey, holding a gun to her head. Using his eyes, Jack tells her to use the knife. She stabs Omar and he's shot dead.
What's
Up With Driscoll: Jack, Audrey and Heller are brought into CTU. Heller praises Driscoll for her quick thinking and good
work. Driscoll accepts his praise without telling him that Jack was the true hero. Afterward, she asks Jack to become the
new Field Ops Agent, keeping in mind that she's in charge. Jack accepts her offer.
What's Up With Audrey: Audrey's
estranged husband, Paul Raines, comes to see her at CTU. He tells her that he wants to work out their differences. Audrey
tells him she doesn't want to because she's already met someone. Jack interrupts, needing Audrey for screening. After Paul
leaves she and Jack embrace. Afterward, she tries to locate the guy she recognized in the compound. She remembers she saw
him at a hotel event. Jack has an agent retrieve the security cameras from that dinner so Audrey can identify him. Meanwhile,
Paul watches Audrey's and Jack's interaction suspiciously from another room.
What's Up With Heller: Heller's
told that his son Richard's been brought in because he failed a lie detector test, indicating he's hiding something. Heller's
upset that Richard's been subjected to sensory disorientation and demands to see him. He's brought to Richard and they hug.
After apologizing to each other for their fight earlier, Heller asks Richard whether he's told CTU everything they need to
know. Richard flares up and says he doesn't have to tell CTU anything about his personal life. Heller calls agent Curtis in
and tells him that he supports CTU in any method they deem necessary to get the information out of Richard. Hence, Curtis
continues with the sensory deprivation as Richard screams in agony.
What's Up With Marianne: When Driscoll and
Heller are unable to access an important satellite feed, Marianne tells Driscoll that she has a disc of access codes. Driscoll's
pleased. Curtis doesn't trust Marianne because he's convinced she slept with him just to get a position in CTU. She tells
Curtis she slept with him because she's attracted to him and she still is. Later, Driscoll holds a meeting with a representative
from a defense agency about a device that was found inside a briefcase at the compound. The device is able to override a nuclear
power plant in the event of an emergency. Jack confirms that Heller's trial was a distraction from a larger terrorist plot.
By clogging the Internet with traffic due to the trial, they were unable to detect a hacker going into the computer systems
of any or all nuclear power plants in the country. Marianne secretly listens in on the meeting and then makes a phone call
from a secure connection. She tells whoever's on the other end that CTU has discovered the override device.
What's
Up With Navi: After Heller's assassination has been thwarted, Behrooz overhears Navi on the phone saying that everything's
still on schedule. Behrooz asks his dad how can it be all right when everything they've worked for has been destroyed? Navi
tells Behrooz that he doesn't know everything. Just then, Tariq, one of Navi's cohorts arrives to help Behrooz bury Debbie's
body. Behrooz claims he can do it himself but Navi insists Tariq accompany him. Dina arrives home after they've left and asks
for Behrooz. She's horrified when Navi tells her he's with Tariq because it means that Tariq is going to kill Behrooz. Dina's
hysterical but Navi explains that Behrooz no longer believes in their cause and he's now a hindrance to it.
What's
Up With Behrooz: Behrooz spots Tariq's gun and realizes he's going to kill him. While digging Debbie's grave, Behrooz
whacks Tariq and demands to know who wants him killed. He whacks him again until Tariq tells him…it's his own father
who wants Behrooz dead. Behrooz doesn't believe it and whacks Tariq until he's dead. He then drives off leaving the bodies
of Tariq and Debbie behind.
Season 4: Episode 7: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
January 31, 05 The Scoop: Jack and Audrey find themselves in another life-threatening situation;
Behrooz phones his mother; CTU hurries to secure the 17 nuclear power plants at risk from a terrorist meltdown.
What's Up With Jack: Jack takes Audrey and two other agents to the company where she recognized one of the terrorists
from a dinner. In the security office a technician helps them scan through the surveillance from that night. Audrey sees the
man she recognized and Jack tells the security guard to zoom in on his face. Looking at the other monitors, Jack notices that
nobody's manning the front entrance. Suspicious, Jack radios the other CTU agents and has the tech check their location. They
see the agents dead on the ground in the monitor. Just then terrorists shoot their way into the room, hitting the tech. Jack
shoots the terrorists then hurriedly questions the tech on how to copy the surveillance tape onto a disk before the tech dies.
Audrey wants to call CTU but Jack realizes that their whereabouts were discovered because there's a mole in CTU. Jack and
Audrey creep through the building shooting any terrorist they encounter. Jack arms Audrey with a gun while he phones "the
only person he can trust" for help. They head into the parking garage where a full-blown shoot out occurs. Just when it looks
like Jack and Audrey are losing the battle, Tony Almeda appears at the garage entrance. He helps Jack take down the remaining
terrorists and escorts Jack and Audrey to safety.
What's Up With Driscoll: In the midst of the national crisis
Driscoll is also dealing with her schizophrenic daughter, Maya, who's in the CTU medical wing. The doctors mistakenly give
Maya medication she's allergic to and now they're trying to revive her. Even when it seems Driscoll may collapse under pressure,
she pulls herself together and is able to calmly and collectedly meet with the President via satellite.
What's Up
With Audrey: Aside from working with Jack to identify terrorists, Audrey's estranged husband, Paul, is trying to win back
her affection. Paul realizes she's got something going with Jack and tells Jack to remember that she's his wife. Jack asks
Audrey if she's sure she wants to divorce Paul and she tells him she is.
What's Up With Heller: After three
hours of sensory torture, Richard still hasn't broken and they decide if he was hiding something he would have come clean
by now. Heller visits Richard and asks him to understand why he had to do it. Richard tells him he hates him and never wants
to see him again. Then he leaves CTU with Heller looking regretfully after him.
What's Up With Behrooz: Behrooz
calls Dina and tells her he killed Tariq and that Navi ordered the kill. Dina tells Behrooz where to go and that she'll meet
him in a half hour. Navi overhears her and demands that Dina meet Behrooz where he will have him killed. Dina is in total
anguish over this. While she and Navi are driving to meet Behrooz, Behrooz calls and tells her he's thinking about going to
the police with everything he knows. Dina tells him to wait for her. She and Navi meet two of his cohorts and Navi tells her
where to bring Behrooz. They follow Dina as she picks up Behrooz. As he's about to get into the car, Dina tells Behrooz to
run, that they're trying to kill him. Navi realizes what she's up to and shoots her in the shoulder. Behrooz takes hold of
the wheel and speeds away. Navi follows them but is cut off by a truck. Behrooz, with his wounded mother has narrowly escaped.
Meanwhile, Navi goes to his boss, Marwan, and tells him about their escape. Marwan gives Navi the means necessary to capture
Behrooz and Dina but tells him he will pay for this in the end.
What's Up With CTU: It's believed that the
first nuclear meltdown may occur in three hours. As Jack and Audrey leave CTU, Marianne finds out from Sarah where they're
headed. She moves to a secluded area and calls her terrorist contact to tell him where Jack is. Sarah sees her and asks what
she's doing; Marianne tells her she's rebooting something for Edgar. Later, Sarah realizes that Marianne lied to her and calls
her on it. Marianne tells her she needed to make a personal phone call and didn't want anyone to know. Meanwhile, Edgar discovers
a code that he believes will enable him to shut down any of the 17 nuclear reactors that haven't already been taken over by
the Override device. But if he makes a mistake it could cause a mass meltdown. Everybody is relieved as they see several plant
reactors shutting down. Six of the plants are unable to be shut down so until Jack finds the terrorists, the country is in
danger of a nuclear holocaust.
Season 4: Episode 8: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
February 7, 05 The Scoop: Tony takes Jack and Audrey to his
house; Sarah is mistakenly taken into custody for being the spy within CTU; Behrooz and Dina not only have Navi hot on their
trail but LAPD as well.
What's Up With Jack: While en route to Tony's house, Jack calls Heller to tell him there's
a spy in CTU. At Tony's house, Jack and Audrey load the disc into the computer so she can identify the terrorist she recognized
from the dinner party. When she spots him Jack sends the picture of him to the Department of Defense. They identify him as
Henry Powell and he's believed to be the person who created the Override device for the terrorists. In tracking him down,
it's discovered that he's currently trying to leave Los Angeles via helicopter. Jack gets the DOD to ground the helicopter.
Audrey gets picked up by an agent and is brought back to CTU while Jack and Tony head over to the airstrip. Meanwhile, Henry
Powell's helicopter pilot informs him he's been grounded by the Department of Defense. Powell pulls out a gun and orders the
pilot to fly him out of the state. They get into the chopper and it's revving up just as Jack and Tony arrive. They stop the
chopper from taking off and take Powell into custody. Just then a sniper on a nearby roof shoots Powell in the chest, killing
him.
What's Up With Tony: Since Jack was able to get Tony out of prison Tony's been unemployed and hostile.
He's begun drinking heavily and Michelle left him. He's currently an unemployed alcoholic who's dating an obnoxious bimbo.
What's Up With Heller: Heller tells President Keeler about the threat to six nuclear power plants across the
country. Keeler holds a press conference and orders the evacuation of all six cities. After Jack's phone call, Heller and
his assistant Scott Borman devise a plan to weed out the spy. It turns out that everything points to Sarah as being the mole
and she's taken to the holding room. Driscoll interrogates her but Sarah adamantly insists that she's not the spy. The Tormentor
is brought in and begins to shock Sarah into admission, but she still doesn't break. Driscoll tells Heller that it's possible
Sarah isn't the spy.
What's Up With Marianne: When Sarah's taken into custody, Marianne thinks she's off the
hook. Unbeknownst to her, Edgar is sure Sarah's innocent and suspects Marianne. He finds a way to get Marianne to download
her username and password and from his computer he sees that Marianne set Sarah up. Marianne notices Edgar watching her and
she reminds him that she could get him fired. Edgar ignores her and tells Driscoll, Heller and Curtis what he found. Just
then Curtis sees Marianne trying to leave CTU. They chase her out to the parking lot and catch her just as she's about to
unlock her car door. Curtis grabs her and tells another agent to check out what's in her car. Just as the agent unlocks the
door the car explodes. Meanwhile, Sarah who's groggy from the shock treatment is released from custody.
What's
Up With Navi: The terrorists feel that causing six nuclear meltdowns will be sufficient in their quest. Navi wants to
help any way he can. Marwan tells him to take care of his wife and son. Navi assures him that Dina and Behrooz will be dead
before the day is through.
What's Up With Behrooz: Although Dina is against it Behrooz insists they get her
to a hospital to have her arm checked out. Dina realizes that Navi is after them and will have them killed. At the hospital
they tell the doctor, who says it looks like Dina's been shot, that Dina hit a rusty nail on a fence. When the doctor leaves,
Nina tells Behrooz to keep an eye on the doctor to make sure he isn't phoning anyone. Behrooz suggests that maybe they should
go to the cops, but Dina explains they'll spend the rest of their lives in jail. She tells him they must leave the country.
As the doctor's fixing Dina's arm, Behrooz sees a nurse talking to a police officer and then sees a patrol car speed into
the hospital entrance. He tells Dina the cops are here, grabs several items to help Dina's wound and the two of them hurriedly
leave the hospital.

meltdown occurs at the San Gabriel nuclear reactor.
What's Up At CTU: With the San Gabriel reactor in meltdown,
the surrounding area is being evacuated. There's complete chaos and traffic as people try to leave and many still don't know
what's going on. The Override device must be found or the other 5 reactors will meltdown. Jack is their only hope. Meanwhile,
Edgar's mother is in the danger zone. She's incapacitated and unable to leave her house. Edgar begs Audrey to get the National
Guard to save his mother. They're unable to get to her. Edgar talks to his mother and is distraught when she tells him she's
going to take her own life rather than die from radiation poisoning. Edgar prepares to leave CTU to help her but is stopped
by Driscoll. She tells him thousands of people need his help and his mother would want him to help. Edgar decides to stay
on.
What's Up With Jack: Jack has CTU trace a phone number found on Powell's phone. The number belongs to Dina
and it's traced to the hotel she and Behrooz are at. Jack and Tony head over to the hotel meeting agent Castle from CTU. They
burst into Dina and Behrooz's hotel room finding Dina alone and wounded on the bed. Dina puts a gun to her head but Jack grabs
it before she can shoot herself. Castle demands to know where the Override device is and digs his fingers into her bullet
wound causing Dina to wail in pain. Tony throws Castle off her saying she'll pass out before she's able to give them any information.
Castle doesn't appreciate Tony giving him orders. Tony looks at Dina's arm and calms her down while Jack sends her fingerprints
to CTU and gets information about her and Behrooz. Driscoll tells Jack that Dina, Navi and Behrooz are seemingly ordinary
citizens with no criminal records and not on the terrorist watch list. Driscoll plays Jack the traced conversation between
Behrooz and Dina when he told her Navi wants him dead. Jack talks to Dina, telling her he understands her plight. He knows
she believes in their cause deeply but not enough to sacrifice her son. Jack talks to President Keeler and has a written document
faxed over promising Behrooz a full pardon as long as Dina helps them find the Override device. Dina agrees and phones Behrooz
who's at the hospital trying to retrieve pain medication for Dina from his uncle who's a doctor. She tells him that government
agents have found her and she's agreed to help them find Navi. Behrooz is skeptical but Dina assures him everything will be
all right. She tells Behrooz they're coming to pick him up and to wait at the emergency room.
What's Up With Behrooz:
Behrooz asks his uncle Naseem for pain medication for Dina's back. He says she's been unable to reach her own doctor for a
prescription. Naseem finds Behrooz' behavior strange and phones Navi to tell him. Navi tells Naseem that Behrooz is doing
drugs and to keep him there until he arrives. Behrooz waits until Dina phones him. After he learns she and government agents
are coming to get him, he tells Naseem that he has to leave but Naseem tells him he can't let him go. He says he's talked
to Navi and he's on his way. Behrooz tries to tell Naseem that Navi is a terrorist and is going to kill him but Naseem thinks
Behrooz is just paranoid from the drugs. Behrooz runs from Naseem and right into Navi in the hallway. Navi sees Naseem behind
Behrooz and shoots him dead before he can say anything. Then he pulls Behrooz into the stairwell and tells him how disappointed
he is in him. He holds a gun to Behrooz' head but before he can pull the trigger, Behrooz tells him government agents are
on their way. Navi slaps him and drags him to the parking garage, into a car and tries to drive away, but Jack and Tony are
waiting for them. Jack shoots out the car's tires, forcing Navi and Behrooz out. Jack points his gun at Navi and tells him
to let Behrooz go but Navi keeps the gun to Behrooz' head and disappears into the stairwell and down to the basement. Jack
phones Driscoll who tells him there's no way out of the hospital from the basement. Dina tells Jack that all the nuclear reactors
will meltdown in two hours and that unless he saves Behrooz she is happy to let it happen.
Season 4: Episode 10: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
February 21, 05 The Scoop: Navi holds Behrooz hostage; Marianne is
interrogated; Audrey’s husband, Paul Raines, comes under suspicion.
What’s Up With Behrooz: Navi
drags Behrooz into the laundry room of the hospital. He hits him and tells him he’s not his son. Then he phones Marwan
and tells him that he must keep Behrooz alive long enough to keep Dina quiet. Marwan tells him they need at least an hour
or two before the mass meltdown.
What’s Up With Jack: Driscoll gives Jack the location of Behrooz &
Navi in the laundry room of the hospital. Jack is lowered into the laundry chute that leads into the room. As the chain that
lowered Jack down is taken up, it hits the edge of the chute with a loud clanking. Navi makes his way into the next room to
check it out. As he enters the room Jack smacks him in the face with his gun. Navi stumbles back, dropping his gun. Jack points
his gun at him telling him not to move. Navi lunges at Jack and the two struggle on the floor. Jack regains control and again
points the gun at Navi. Just then Navi is shot from behind and falls dead to the floor as Behrooz stands behind him still
holding the gun and looking stunned. Jack tries to calm Behrooz as the team barges in the room, hollering at Behrooz to drop
his weapon. When he does, he’s taken into custody as Dina enters the room and sees that Behrooz is alive. Jack reminds
Dina of their deal and tells her to give him the information he needs in order to find the Override device. The only information
Dina has is an address where she last saw the men in charge of the Override device. Jack keeps Behrooz & Dina while they
check out the address. At the house of the address, Jack & Tony find a hidden basement in which there’s an office
full of terrorist plans. The house is owned by a company called Galaxy Financial and Paul Raines happens to be the CFO. Jack
calls Audrey and tells her to get a hold of Paul so he can be questioned.
What’s Up With Audrey: Audrey
calls Paul and tells him she’s been thinking about him and would like to talk. Paul is on his way to the airport (without
telling Audrey where he’s going) but agrees to wait until she arrives. Jack doesn’t want Audrey to go but Audrey
insists she must in order to keep Paul there long enough for Jack to arrive. Once she arrives, Paul pours her champagne. Audrey
is reluctant to talk to him so Paul assumes she’d rather visit the bedroom. When Audrey makes it clear that’s
not at all what she wants, Paul is confused and becomes suspicious, asking Audrey if she’s spying on him. Just as he’s
getting really heated, Jack bursts through the door, pointing a gun at Paul. Paul yells to Audrey that she set him up. Jack
tells him he wants answers and when Paul refuses to talk, Jack whacks him in the face.
What’s Up At CTU:
Sarah is back after being wrongly tortured and demands that Driscoll completely erase her arrest from her records. In addition,
she wants a double level pay increase…Driscoll agrees. Also, Jack has managed to get Tony reinstated into CTU. Driscoll
agrees but she tells Sarah to keep an eye on him. Meanwhile, Curtis is busy interrogating Marianne who claims she knows nothing
about the terrorists and that Powell was the only one she dealt with. She tells Curtis that Powell kept a list of names on
his office computer so Curtis arranges for a team of agents to accompany him and Marianne to the office. At Powell’s
office, Marianne logs onto the computer but is unable to go any further. Just then a group of men burst into the office. Marianne
tells them the computer is still secure but they shoot her dead in her tracks. One of the men, an American called Forbes asks
Curtis how far along CTU is in its investigation. Curtis won’t give up any information so the men knock him unconscious
and take him away.
Season 4: Episode 11: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
February 28, 05 The Scoop: Jack interrogates Paul as Tony interrogates Dina; the location
of the Override Device is discovered; Driscoll juggles the National crisis and taking care of her mentally ill daughter.
What’s
Up With Curtis: Curtis pretends he’s passed out and stays limp as two men drag him from the chair he’s in
and prepare to kill him. Just as they’re about to exit the room Curtis comes to life, smashing one guy’s head
into the concrete wall and snapping the other guy’s neck. He stealthily makes his way from the room and comes upon one
of the terrorists. Beating him until he speaks, Curtis finds out that Marwan is upstairs with the Override Device. Curtis
phones Jack who’s outside the building with a group of CTU agents and tells him where to meet him.
What’s
Up With Jack: Jack tries getting information from Paul by shocking him with exposed wire as Audrey watches in horror.
Paul adamantly denies being a part of the terrorists group and claims not to know anything about the abandoned house with
the secret basement. He has access to records on his laptop and an alias used by Marwan comes up. Jack calls CTU and gets
the address of the building where Marianne took Curtis. When he meets Curtis at the building Curtis tells him that somewhere
in the upstairs office is Marwan with the Override Device. When they arrive at the office they look around in awe at the countless
office workers, having no idea which one is Marwan. Jack and Curtis creep around watching everyone closely. Meanwhile, one
of Marwan’s cronies discovers the CTU agents in the building and hurriedly phones Marwan, telling him they’ve
been discovered. Marwan cautiously looks around and spots a suspicious looking Jack sneaking around the office and realizes
he’s an agent. Marwan grabs his gun and shoots twice into the ceiling causing a panic in the office. Jack and Curtis
race around trying to catch Marwan, while yelling at everyone to get down. Curtis finds the Override Device attached to the
computer Marwan was using. Jack tells him to call CTU now and he runs out after Marwan. He comes upon a body in a doorway
but can’t tell whom it is. He radios to the CTU agents downstairs that he needs some back up. An agent responds that
they’re on their way. Then Jack looks at the body and sees it’s one of the CTU agents without his uniform. He
realizes that Marwan is posing as an agents and yells into his radio that the suspect is posing as an agent. Meanwhile, the
agent downstairs gets Jack’s message and looks at the agent behind him. Before he can say a word, Marwan shoots him
dead.
What’s Up With CTU: When Curtis calls CTU and tells Driscoll he’s got the Override Device,
Driscoll immediately patches him through to Edgar who’s the only one who will know how to stop the nuclear meltdowns.
Edgar talks Curtis through the extremely intricate device as CTU monitors three new nuclear reactors that are seconds to melting
down. Finally, the reactors begin to cool down. Edgar has been able to stop the mass nuclear meltdown and sits down, shaken,
as everyone is congratulating him.
What’s Up At Driscoll: Driscoll’s running ragged, splitting her
time between her office and the clinic that Maya’s in. The doctor tells Driscoll that he doesn’t have the power
to handle a patient such as Maya and she’s going to have to be moved to a hospital. Driscoll won’t have it and
tries to calm Maya down herself. Later, just as Edgar’s working on the Override Device she gets an urgent call from
the doctor. She has to wait until the crisis is over before going into the clinic. When she gets there she finds Maya on the
floor with both of her wrists slit.
Season 4: Episode 12: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
March 7, 05 The Scoop: Jack and Paul Raines visit McLennan-Forstor, the company
Marwan was working for…and the company’s executives would rather not be associated with terrorists; Tony is temporarily
named Director of CTU replacing Driscoll who is forced to step down after her daughter’s suicide. What’s
Up With Jack: Since Paul knows inside internal technical information, he accompanies Jack to McLennan-Forster, which is
a company that manufactures weapons and then trains its clients on how to use them. On the way there Paul tells Jack that
although he doesn’t resent him for his relationship with Audrey he’s going to do anything he can to salvage his
marriage to her. Upon arriving at McLennan-Forster they’re met by Conlon who’s head of security and who takes
them to meet with Reiss, an executive, and the CEO, Gene McLennan. Prior to their arrival Conlon and Reiss briefed McLennan
on their precarious situation because of Marwan. They decide it’s crucial to do anything possible to keep CTU from discovering
what Marwan was doing while employed by them or face the destruction of the company. Jack and Paul are brought to Marwan’s
workstation and begin combing through his computer. Meanwhile, Conlon is upstairs deleting files and trying to stay ahead
of Jack & Paul. Since Paul knows more about their computer programs Conlon realizes there’s only one way to stop
them from getting the information and that’s by creating an Electric Magnetic Pulse (EMP) bomb which will not only destroy
any computer programs within the company but will shut down all frequencies within a certain proximity to the building. Unable
to reach Jack by phone, CTU contacts him through Marwan’s computer, alerting him of the situation. Realizing the company
execs are the culprits Jack runs to the tech room to try and stop the EMP. Meanwhile, Paul is trying to save their progress
with hardcopies and is now being chased by Conlon. Jack is unable to stop the EMP and braces himself for the electronic blast.
All the buildings surrounding McLennan-Forster lose power and Jack and Paul are trapped in the building. What’s
Up With CTU: Edgar is doing his best to help Jack and Paul who are experiencing major technical difficulties at McLennan-Forster.
Curtis isn’t happy that Tony has been named interim CTU Director because technically Curtis should retain that title.
Since Tony had two years experience running CTU in the past, Heller figures he’s the best candidate until they find
a permanent solution. That permanent solution is found much sooner than expected and Tony’s shocked when he sees his
ex-wife, Michelle Dessler, walking into CTU ready to take control
Season 4: Episode 13: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
March 14, 05 The Scoop:McLennan-Forster brings in a private army to take care of Jack
& Paul and retrieve any documents they may have acquired; Tony’s having a hard time taking direction from Michelle
who’s really proving her authority.
What’s Up With Jack: Conlon, McLennan-Forster’s head of
security, has captured Paul. He and some other men are beating Paul so he’ll give them the information he printed out.
Jack discovers Paul just as his fingers are being slammed in between a drawer. Jack is able to shoot Paul’s tormentor
and he and Paul escape the building. Because of the black out caused by the EMP the area of Los Angeles that’s in the
dark is being ravaged by looters. Jack & Paul take cover in a gun shop where they’ll have access to plenty of weapons.
The owners of the shop are two young Middle Eastern men who want nothing more than to help Jack nab the terrorists. Jack’s
plan is to create a shoot-out with McLennan-Forster’s gunmen, that way when the gunmen radio for assistance CTU will
be able to track Jack & Paul’s whereabouts.
What’s Up With CTU: Michelle displays a total take-charge
persona. When Sarah approaches her about Driscoll’s promise to erase her arrest and raise her pay, Michelle tells her
they’ll discuss it later. Sarah is adamant that it is resolved now so Michelle resolves the issue by firing Sarah on
the spot and having her forcibly removed from CTU. In the meantime, Michelle isn’t so sure Tony’s up to par to
assist CTU. She cautiously assigns him duties but Tony’s experience and expertise change her mind when his prediction
that Jack will purposely cause a shoot-out in order to aid CTU in finding him comes true. Afterwards, she apologizes to Tony
who wants to leave CTU in order to escape the painful situation of not just being around Michelle, but also having to take
orders from her. Michelle asks him to stay saying that CTU needs him and he agrees. Meanwhile, Audrey’s having a hard
time dealing with the difference between the Jack she knew in Washington and the Jack she’s seen in the field. She thinks
her feelings may be changing towards him. In addition, she’s tremendously concerned about Paul’s safety.
What’s
Up With Paul: When CTU’s team finally arrives at Jack & Paul’s location, they’re able to bring down
McLennan-Forster’s men. As they’re just about to go back to CTU and decode the information Paul printed out, Conlon,
who’s lying on the floor believed to be dead, reaches for his gun. Paul sees him aim and pushes Jack out of the line
of fire and takes the bullet in the stomach himself. Jack yells for medics and struggles to keep Paul awake so that his life
can be saved.
What’s Up With Marwan: Marwan is safe in a hideout and phones a cohort named Anderson. Marwan
tells him it will take him (Anderson) 30 minutes to get to wear he’s going. Anderson says he’s ready and then
pulls an Air Force uniform from a closet. Later, dressed in the Air Force uniform Anderson calls Marwan from an air force
base. Marwan tells him “the President of the United States is on a tight schedule.”
Season 4: Episode 14: 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
March 21, 05 The Scoop: Marwan’s attempt to take down Air Force One is well underway;
Paul is in surgery after being shot; Jack needs Dina to help them get to Marwan.
What's Up With Audrey: Jack
calls Audrey while on his way back to CTU and tells her Paul's been shot. She tells Paul that she's here for him and will
be there when he's out of surgery. His condition is grave and Audrey tells her dad that she's now realizing how much Paul
means to her.
What's Up With CTU: Concerned that Edgar is breaking under pressure, Michelle calls Chloe back
in to help. Also, in order to find Marwan and stop the next attack he has planned, Dina is used for help. The plan is that
Dina will go to Fayad, a man closely associated with Marwan, and tell him she attained a hostage during the shoot-out that
killed her husband, Navi. Their hope is that Fayad will phone Marwan and tell him Dina has a hostage who may be of assistance
to them…Agent Jack Bauer…and Marwan will want them brought to him. Hence, CTU will be able to covertly track Marwan
down.
What's Up With Jack: Jack visits Dina in her holding cell and tells her that she's going to have to help
them get to Marwan or she'll never see Behrooz again. Dina agrees but she insists to see Behrooz first. She's brought to Behrooz's
holding cell and tells him that she's helping CTU and afterward they'll be able to live a normal life together. Behrooz doesn't
want her to do it, fearing for her life, but Dina's mind is made up. Then she and Jack go to Fayad's apartment. He's wary
to let them in but Dina convinces him by telling him she's got Jack as a hostage. Fayad calls Marwan who orders Fayad to bring
them to him. The three of them get into Fayad's car and begin driving. CTU has a couple of agents following far behind them
and Chloe is tracking them via satellite. Fayad enters a tunnel, causing CTU unable to see them. At a construction site inside
the tunnel Fayad pulls over. Several of Marwan's men disguised as construction workers grab Jack and Dina from the car and
force them into a white van. Fayad drives off in his car by himself. CTU's satellite hones in and sees there's only one person
in the car. Michelle orders all agents to ambush Fayad's car. Fayad is forced to stop and surrounded by agents. He closes
his eyes and detonates a car bomb, killing himself and two agents. Although they've figured out that Jack & Dina are in
the white van and are searching for them, for the time being CTU has lost track of them.
What's Up With Dina:
Jack and Dina are brought to Marwan and Dina continues to play her role. Marwan suspects she's now working against him and
holds a gun to her head as Dina vehemently denies it. Marwan tells her to prove it and hands her the gun telling her to kill
Jack. Dina points the gun at Jack and just as she's about to shoot, she aims at Marwan…but the gun is empty. Marwan
says it's just as he suspected. Then he has Dina taken away and two shots ring out from where she's taken. Jack is kept alive
for now.
What's Up With Marwan: As Marwan's dealing with Jack and Dina, his next plan of attack is moving along
smoothly. An Air Force pilot is in bed with his girlfriend when his wife phones him. She tells him she and their children
are being held hostage. The pilot's girlfriend holds him at gunpoint as Marwan's fake Air Force Pilot kidnaps him. Using the
real Air Force Pilot, the fake one is able to enter the Air Force Base. Afterwards, he kills the real pilot and takes his
thumb with a pair of pliers. Then, using the dead pilot's severed thumb, he's able to enter the airfield.
Season 4: Episode 15: 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM
March 28, 05 The Scoop: Marwan is holding Jack; Marwan devises a plan that involves Behrooz
in order to distract CTU from his next plan of attack.
What's Up With Marwan: Marwan and his men have Jack chained
up in an abandoned warehouse. Marwan is notified that the LAPD has logged a missing persons report on the real Air Force Captain's
family. Knowing that if CTU gets that information they'll realize what's going on, Marwan devises a plan to distract them.
He calls Michelle at CTU and tells her he wants to trade Jack for Behrooz.
What's Up With CTU: As CTU theorizes
that Behrooz may be a crucial part of Marwan's plan, Chloe and Edgar are in a power struggle over who's got higher rank. Meanwhile,
LAPD has logged a report with CTU that needs to be checked. Chloe tells Edgar that since "he's the boss" he has to go through
it. He passes it off to another agent who tells Chloe that there's a report stating a U.S. Air Force captain's family has
been reported missing. Chloe passes it back to Edgar who's busy with other things and keeps putting off looking into the report.
Meanwhile, Tony has Curtis interrogate Behrooz (using the most extreme measures) to find out what he knows and why Marwan
wants him. Behrooz claims over and over that he knows nothing. Michelle, along with Bill Buchanan from Division, is busy deciding
whether they should go through with the trade. When they've finally decided to go through with it, everybody gets busy working
on executing the trade. Marwan's method of distracting CTU from the bigger picture – his infiltration of the Air Force
– has worked.
What's Up With Behrooz: Behrooz is beside himself with fear…worried sick about his
mom and afraid of the torture CTU may inflict upon him in order to get information he doesn't have. In order to prep Behrooz
for the trade, they need to put tracking devices on him so they will be able to find Marwan. One device is disguised as a
watch and the other is imbedded under his skin in the back of his neck with a needle-gun. Curtis, along with a couple other
agents put him in the van and drive to Marwan's trading ground. Jack is across the way and begins to walk toward Behrooz as
Behrooz walks toward Jack. As Jack nears Curtis and the CTU van, Marwan has a sniper attempt to shoot him but CTU's sniper
gets to him first and Jack's life is spared once again. Meanwhile, Behrooz has been shoved into Marwan's van and they speed
off. In the van, Behrooz is stunned when he's told that his mother is dead. He's scanned for tracking devices and the watch
is taken off him. When they discover another tracking device is imbedded in Behrooz's neck, they dig it out with a pocketknife
and dispose of the devises making it impossible for CTU to track them. Behrooz looks at his hand, covered in his blood, in
total shock and fear.
What's Up With Jack: Jack's got his eyes and ears open the entire time he's chained up
in the warehouse. While Marwan is on the phone with Andersen, Jack twists the wires in the telephone box he's chained to.
In order to distract everybody from the sparks it makes Jack kicks one of Marwan's men. A scuffle ensues and the sparks go
unnoticed. Afterward, Jack is led out of the warehouse to be traded for Behrooz. Back with CTU in the van, Jack questions
why CTU actually went through with the trade. He calls Tony and informs him about the phone wires he twisted. He wants CTU
to track phone disruptions in the area in order to find Marwan.
What's Up With Andersen (the guy posing as the Air
Force Captain): Andersen is inside the Air Force Base. Marwan has made it clear that they're on an extremely tight schedule
and he must take off as soon as possible. After dealing with a minor snag (in which he was forced to kill a mechanic) Andersen
calls Marwan and tells him he's just about to take off. He drives the Air Force Stealth fighter outside the hangar and prepares
for take-off.
Season 4: Episode 16: 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM
April 4, 05 The Scoop: President Keeler remains in flight on Air Force One but is anxious
to land so that he can address the country; Marwan eludes CTU again and his next plan of attack is revealed.
What's
Up With Marwan: Marwan is talking to Nicole, the woman who helped entrap the Air Force pilot. She's in one of the accomplice's
apartment (which is also Andersen's, the fake Air Force pilot's, apartment) frantically searching for a hard drive that holds
the entire outline of their upcoming attack. While on the phone Marwan sees sparks coming out of the telephone box and realizes
that CTU is probably about to ambush the warehouse. He sets a bomb device, grabs the remote with which to detonate the bomb
and discretely leaves the warehouse.
What's Up With Audrey: Before Jack is about to try to capture Marwan, he
phones Audrey who's hesitant to speak with him. He tells her that he knows they have to talk about the way he treated Paul
earlier and she agrees. Afterwards, the doctor tells her that Paul is paralyzed from the waist down and he may never walk
again. She goes into Paul's room, sits beside him and tells him she realizes he saved Jack's life. She takes his hand into
hers and kisses it.
What's Up With Jack: Jack and a SWAT team storm into the warehouse and take down all Marwan's
cohorts. Afterwards he looks at one of the computers to get information and finds that it's automatically deleting files.
Underneath the desk Jack sees a device with a red flashing light and realizes this could blow at any second. He yells for
everyone to take cover as Marwan, now outside of the warehouse, detonates the bombs. All the computers in the warehouse blow
up. Jack is able to salvage counterfeit passports and drivers licenses, sending them over to CTU for evaluation. Andersen
comes up in their analysis. Looking at his history they are able to determine that he's a major threat. Jack gets the address
of Andersen's apartment and heads over. Meanwhile, FBI Agent Drake arrives at Andersen's apartment conducting her own investigation.
Nicole shoots her dead right as she walks in. Agent Drake's phone rings and Nicole answers it. On the other line is Jack believing
that he's speaking with an FBI agent. When Jack, along with another CTU agent, arrives at the apartment Nicole is posing as
Agent Drake who pretends she's aiding them in searching for the hard drive. When the CTU agent tries to plug in his laptop,
he sees there's a hole in the wall. He reaches inside and retrieves the hard drive. Nicole tells him good work and then stabs
him in the neck and takes the hard drive. Jack looks down and sees the agent dead. Nicole shoots at Jack and Jack shoots back,
killing her. He takes the hard drive and logs onto the computer. Edgar helps Jack bypass the terrorist's security and Jack
sees that the next terrorist attack is intended for Air Force One.
What's Up With CTU: Tony notices that Michelle
and Buchanan from Division are acting like they're more than just co-workers. He confronts Michelle and she admits that she
met Buchanan while she and Tony were "legally" still married but she wasn't sleeping with him…at that time. Chloe informs
Edgar that because of decontamination efforts the body of his mother will not be recovered for a few weeks…meaning he
may have to have her funeral without her body. Edgar's visibly upset but continues working. Later, Chloe sees Edgar making
a big mistake but bails him out by telling Michelle it was her error. When Edgar asks her why she took the blame she tells
him that she thought he's got a lot on his mind. Tony finds out that an Air Force pilot of a stealth fighter currently in
flight has not been able to be reached. The pilot is Andersen on his way to shoot down Air Force One. Michelle alerts Air
Force One of a possible impending attack. President Keeler phones the Vice President and tells him to prepare to be sworn
into office if the worst happens. Meanwhile, Tony sends Jack Andersen's biography and they're able to patch him into the frequency
of Andersen's aircraft. Jack tells Andersen that he doesn't have to go through with this attack. He encourages, practically
begging, him to not go through with it. Chloe has Air Force One on the scanner but they can't see the approaching stealth
bomber because it's able to fly undetected. Without ever making a comment Andersen cuts off Jack's communication. Air Force
One disappears from Chloe's screen. President Keeler has been hit.
Season 4: Episode 17: 11:00 PM - 12:00 AM
April 11, 05 The Scoop: A married couple comes upon the wreckage of Air Force One; Jack
races to acquire top-secret information that was aboard Air Force One before the terrorists get to it first.
What's
Up With CTU: After Air Force One crashes to the ground, CTU radios for emergency crews to get to the scene immediately.
Jack uses a code to reach the five Secret Service agents who were aboard Air Force One. Secret Serviceman number three radios
back to Jack that he thinks there may be other survivors but doesn't know if the President is one of them. Meanwhile, Secretary
of Defense Heller directs Audrey to tell CTU that their main priority is not ensuring the President's life, but to retrieve
what is known as the "football," the extremely clandestine case aboard Air Force One that contains all of the United States
nuclear codes. Jack is immediately sent out to the crash site. Once emergency crews arrive at the site they find the President's
son dead. The President, although critically injured, is still alive.
What's Up With Jack: As Jack is en route
to the crash site Jason and his wife Kelly look around the wreckage. When he finds the football Jason knows it's something
of great magnitude. He phones the police who patch him into CTU who patch him into Jack. Jack tells Jason to remain where
he is but Jason sees headlights coming toward them. Jack tells Jason that there's a transponder inside the football so it
can be tracked at all times. He coaches Jason through detecting the transponder and destroying it. Then he directs Jason and
Kelly to run far from the site. Meanwhile, Marwan and his men have been tracking the football transponder and realize when
they lose the signal that somebody has disarmed it. The terrorists scan the area for any cell phone usage. Jack tells Jason
to go to the vacant power station nearby and to wait for him there. He also tells him to take the batteries out of his cell
phone so nobody can track them. Unfortunately, the terrorists are able to detect Jason's signal before it cuts out and Marwan
knows that whoever has the football is headed for the power station. Moments after Jason and Kelly break into the power station,
Marwan and his men shoot their way inside. Jason anxiously calls Jack who tells him to go down to the bottom floor and wait
for him. As soon as Jack and his partner land at the power station, a shootout occurs and Jack's partner is shot. Jack tells
Jason to keep moving throughout the station and then calls Audrey to get the code to the football. He has Jason open the case
with the code. Inside is the "playbook" with all the crucial nuclear codes inside. The playbook cannot be used without the
control board…so Jack instructs Jason and Kelly to separate, one carrying the playbook, the other carrying the control
board. Jason and Kelly reluctantly separate with Kelly holding the control board. Minutes later, Marwan and his men capture
Jason and take the playbook. They demand to know where the control board is, and when Jason won't tell them, Marwan shoots
him in the shoulder and then his knee. Kelly hears Jason screaming in pain and frantically calls Jack giving him their location.
Unable to stomach her husband's agonizing wails, Kelly gives herself up. She makes Marwan promise he won't kill them before
she gives him the control board. Once Marwan has the control board and the playbook he directs one of his men to kill the
couple. Just as the thug is about to shoot them he's shot dead by Jack who radios for help for Jason and Kelly and then goes
after Marwan and the football. Marwan and his team drive off in 2 separate jeeps. Jack radios to the CTU chopper above that
the football is in the second jeep and to take it down. The jeep crashes and Jack is able to retrieve the football. Marwan
is in the other jeep and has once again eluded Jack. In checking the football, Jack realizes that a page is missing.
What's
Up at the White House: With President Keeler incapacitated for an undeterminable amount of time, Presidential Advisor
Novick advises Vice President Logan to prepare to be sworn into the Presidency. Logan is an obvious bundle of nerves and Novick
questions whether he's up to the task at hand. After Logan is sworn into office and about to address a very anxious nation,
Novick informs him that a crucial portion of the United States' nuclear football is currently in the hands of terrorists.
Logan's expression is one of extreme concern and confusion
Season 4: Episode 18: 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM
April 18, 05 The Scoop: CTU brings in a suspect linked to Marwan but runs into an unexpected
dilemma; President Logan’s ability to run the country is brought under question; Marwan and his group have gotten hold
of a nuclear warhead.
What's Up With Marwan: Yosik, one of Marwan's associates, has made a critical error in
using a credit card that can be tracked back to Marwan. Marwan tells Yosik to go to a boatyard where Prado, another of Marwan's
assistants, will help to get Yosik out of the country. On Prado's boat Yosik speaks to Marwan who tells Yosik to kill Prado
because Prado knows too much; but Prado gets to Yosik first, shooting him dead. Just then a CTU team ambushes the boat and
Prado is brought into CTU for interrogation. Knowing that Prado will be tortured for information, Marwan calls one of his
cohorts and orders him to contact Amnesty International and get Prado a lawyer to protect him from CTU's interrogation. Meanwhile,
Marwan continues concentrating on his main goal…causing mass destruction and death within the United States.
What's
Up With CTU: After learning that Marwan has obtained a crucial page of the U.S. nuclear "football," CTU is tracking the
location of all the country's nuclear weapons. The method is difficult because of security measures taken after the day's
terrorist attacks took place; many of the weapons have been rerouted to alternative locations. One convoy that had been heading
to Iowa has been ambushed and the nuclear warhead it was carrying is missing. CTU's hopeful that Prado will break under their
interrogation and tell them where Marwan is so that any other attacks can be prevented. Just as Curtis is about to begin Prado's
excruciating interrogation, Buchanan stops him. An attorney from Amnesty International has halted the questioning and CTU's
hands are tied. Buchanan calls President Logan to try and convince him that Prado is a key link to finding Marwan and to let
them continue. Logan, who has just nervously addressed the nation from a bunker beneath the White House, (which he refuses
to leave until the terrorist threat has been thwarted) decides he should discuss the situation with the Justice Department
before making a decision. Knowing they don't have time for that, Jack tells Buchanan to release Prado; Jack will put in for
his resignation and then interrogate Prado himself as a private citizen. Crime or no crime, it's the only way CTU will be
able to get Prado to tell them where Marwan is. Meanwhile, not realizing what CTU's plan with Jack is, Edgar is getting increasingly
upset that these terrorists who've killed his mother are seemingly getting away with their crimes.
What's Up With
Jack: Jack's tried appealing to the Amnesty International attorney and President Logan to let him and CTU do their job
and interrogate Prado, their only lead to Marwan. He realizes he's going to have to take care of the situation with his own
hands and deal with the consequences later. He's completely focused as he's leaving CTU to intercept Prado who's being released
and even blows off Audrey (who looks after him in awe) on his way out. Prado is suspicious as to why CTU's releasing him so
his lawyer gets him an escort from CTU to take him wherever he wants to go. As Prado gets into his car, Jack knocks out the
driver, holds a gun to Prado's head and orders him to handcuff himself to the dashboard; then he says, "Now we're gonna talk."
Jack wastes no time and gives Prado one chance before he starts breaking his fingers for information. Prado holds out for
about 5 fingers but gives when Jack holds a knife to his throat. Yelling in pain, Prado tells Jack that Marwan is at a club
east of downtown Los Angeles. Afterwards, Jack eases Prado's pain by knocking him unconscious. Meanwhile, Marwan is talking
to the driver of the truck that is holding the nuclear warhead and telling him to meet one of Marwan's men who will give him
the detonation codes. Marwan doesn't want there to be anytime for evacuations, he wants this done quickly.
Season 4: Episode 19: 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM
April 25, 05 The Scoop: Jack is gets closer to capturing Marwan; President Logan is having
serious problems making decisions and realizes that he needs help.
What's Up at the White House: Novick tells
Logan that CTU has discovered Marwan's location because Jack went against Logan's orders and took extreme measures to get
it out of Prado. Logan is furious and demands that Jack be arrested immediately. Although Novick explains that Jack is heading
the field group about to capture Marwan, Logan refuses to wait and orders Secret Service to detain Jack at the site. Later,
after realizing what an incompetent decision he made, Novick recommends that former President Palmer be brought in to help.
Novick calls Palmer who's been watching the day's events on TV. Novick explains the situation to Palmer and asks if he'll
come to the White House and be in charge of making the upcoming decisions that need to be made. Palmer agrees to come in but
wants to speak to Logan face to face first.
What's Up With Jack: After torturing Prado for Marwan's whereabouts,
Jack is heading a field team at the nightclub Marwan's suspected to be at. Jack installs a remote control camera to search
the building through an air vent and sends the feedback to CTU. Buchanan alerts Jack that Secret Service is on its way to
detain him and urges him to hurry and catch Marwan before they arrive. Jack is still working on confirming that Marwan is
definitely in the building when Curtis notifies Jack that Secret Service has arrived. Knowing that this extremely covert situation
will be destroyed if Marwan discovers they're there, Jack talks to Secret Service, imploring them to hold off but because
they're under orders from the President they can't wait. Meanwhile, Marwan has a couple of guards inside the nightclub keeping
a lookout and one of them spots the Secret Service cars outside. Just then Jack finally gets a visual of Marwan and confirms
that he is inside the building. Jack watches as Marwan turns toward the air vent and looks directly into the camera. Jack
yells that they've been discovered and he and the team swarm into the nightclub. Jack shoots down one of Marwan's men and
grabs a tape that was on him.
What's Up With Marwan: A group in Iowa has the nuclear warhead in their possession
and will be in charge of detonating it on the East Coast. Marwan speaks with Sabir, an associate, to confirm that the mission
will be completed from a back room in the nightclub. Afterwards, the men who are with Marwan videotape him making a statement
to the American people. Marwan wants the tape delivered to the networks and played in the morning after the nuclear attack.
Marwan makes it a point to tell the American people to rethink their loyalty to their government or there will be more attacks.
When he discovers that CTU has found them, Marwan and his men rush into a secret tunnel dug inside the club and make their
escape by blasting the area behind them, causing the entrance to collapse and making it impossible for them to be followed.
What's
Up With CTU: Marwan has again avoided capture and is traveling through a sewer tunnel while CTU is alerted that Jack has
been taken into custody by Secret Service. Michelle reminds everybody that his or her only concern is finding Marwan. Chloe
has been contacted by a woman named Nabila who suspects her boyfriend, Sabir, may have become involved with a radical group
after she finds encrypted files on his computer and realizes he lied about where he was staying. Meanwhile, Sabir realizes
Nabila has become suspicious of him and men are sent to her apartment to "take care of her." After doing some research on
the information Nabila has given her, Chloe finds out that Sabir's computer contains schematics for a chip that controls the
nuclear warhead that was stolen. Buchanan orders a team out to Nabila's apartment and he wants Chloe to go along in order
to decode the computer files. Chloe doesn't want to go but Buchanan tells her she's the only one who can do it and she has
to go. Seconds after arriving at Nabila's, Chloe is sitting at Sabir's laptop when shots ring out. Terrorists have killed
the agents that accompanied Chloe and are now after her and Nabila. Chloe grabs the laptop and the girls barricade themselves
in the laundry room. Meanwhile, Logan realizes his critical mistake in having Jack arrested and Jack is immediately released.
Chloe frantically phones CTU that she needs help. She and Nabila escape from the apartment and get inside the CTU car. As
the terrorist fires upon the bulletproof car, Jack tells Chloe where she can find weapons in a case inside the car. She needs
the combination to the case in order to get to the weapons. The terrorist begins ramming their car with his as Chloe waits
for Jack to get her the combination. Chloe and Nabila escape out of the crushed car just as she's given the combination. Chloe
aims a massive automatic weapon at the terrorist's vehicle and shoots him dead.
Season 4: Episode 20: 2:00 AM - 3:00 AM
May 2, 05 The Scoop: Palmer takes over President Logan's responsibilities
and gives Jack a very risky assignment; Audrey remains by Paul's bedside; Buchanan rethinks his decision to reinstate Tony.
What's
Up at the White House: Palmer speaks with Logan face to face. Logan explains that Palmer is better suited to make the
imperative decisions regarding the search for Marwan. He realizes that millions of lives are at stake and he boldly asks Palmer
to help him find the nuclear bomb. Afterwards, Logan retreats to a conference room to work on his next address to the nation
as Palmer is updated by CTU and then speaks to Jack. Jack tells him about the Chinese man, Lee, who is associated with the
terrorist plot and who probably knows where Marwan is. Lee is at the Chinese Consulate so Palmer calls the Chinese Consul
who tells him that Lee has denied having anything to do with the terrorists. He assures Palmer that they'll do anything to
help and he'll talk to Lee as soon as possible. Then CTU tells Palmer that they have reason to believe the nuclear attack
will take place on the East Coast before dawn. Palmer calls the Consul back and tells him they need to speak with Lee immediately.
The Consul tells him he won't be able to speak to Lee for a few hours.
What's Up With Jack: After the Chinese
Consul is unable to help Palmer, he calls Jack and tells him to break into the Chinese Consulate and kidnap Lee. Palmer also
tells Jack that there can be no record of this mission anywhere and that if Jack is caught he's on his own. Afterwards, Jack
calls Tony and tells him to shut down CTU's satellite of that area so there will be no record of his mission. Curtis and his
team, including a Chinese interpreter, wait for Jack outside the Consulate. Jack covers his face with a ski mask and enters
the Consulate, shooting several guards on his way in. Once he locates Lee, Jack throws him over his shoulder and starts running.
The Chinese guards shoot at Jack as he tries to escape and in doing so, they shoot Lee in the back as well as the Chinese
Consul. Agent Bern is almost apprehended when a guard grabs him and tugs his mask down. He puts his mask back over his face
and escapes the Consulate with Jack, jumping into Curtis' getaway van. Inside the van, Lee is wounded and laying on his back.
Jack has the Chinese interpreter help him speak to Lee. He says he knows where Marwan is but will only tell if he is granted
immunity, in writing from President Logan. Jack calls Palmer and assures Lee he will get his reprieve. Just then Lee begins
to gasp and lose consciousness. Jack calls CTU and tells the medical team to prepare for their arrival…Lee must be saved,
as he's their only hope in finding Marwan.
What's Up With Audrey: Paul will be flown to a specialist in Massachusetts
later in the morning. Audrey tells Paul that she's going to go with him. Paul doesn't want her to go unless it's not out of
pity for him but because she wants to go for herself. Audrey tells him she does. He asks if she's told Jack and she says not
yet. Jack visits Paul and Audrey briefly before his Consulate mission and thanks Paul for saving his life. Afterwards, Paul
begins to gasp and his heartbeat becomes irregular. The medical team has to perform emergency surgery on him immediately or
he'll die. Audrey comforts Paul by rubbing his head and assuring him that she'll be there and he'll be okay. Paul's in the
middle of surgery when Jack and his team come bursting into the operating room. He demands that the surgeon work on Lee because
it's crucial Lee doesn't die. The surgeon tells Jack that he can't because he's already working on Paul; if he stops Paul
will die. Jack holds his gun to the surgeon's head and demands he work on Lee. The medical team has no choice but to leave
Paul and work on Lee. Audrey begins screaming but Jack tells her he has no choice. Then Paul goes into cardiac arrest…Jack
asks the surgeon who's working on Lee what to do. Jack & Curtis try to get Paul's heart beating again with a defibrillator…but
it's too late and Paul dies. Audrey runs over to Jack, hitting him and screaming that he killed him. She's taken from the
O.R. screaming that she hates Jack and that he killed Paul.
What's Up With CTU: Tony's live-in girlfriend calls
CTU to speak with him and Michelle answers. Tony quickly gets rid of her and apologizes to Michelle. Michelle asks Tony if
he loves her and Tony says no. After Jack's mission at the Chinese Consulate is finished, Tony informs Buchanan of the mission.
Buchanan's furious that he was kept out of the loop and tells Tony he's taking back his reinstatement. Tony implies that he's
doing it because he's upset about Tony's relationship with Michelle. Meanwhile, Edgar sees if Chloe needs some comfort after
the ordeal she's been through, almost being killed and having shot a man. Chloe's irked because shooting the guy didn't bother
her at all.
What's Up With Palmer: The Chinese Consulate informs Palmer that their Consul has been shot and
killed during a heist. Palmer feigns the U.S. government's innocence but the Chinese Consulate is skeptical and will conduct
a thorough investigation. Palmer realizes that the repercussions to this will be major and could seriously hinder the United
State's relationship with China.
Season 4: Episode 21: 3:00 AM - 4:00 AM
May 9, 05 The Scoop: Chinese officials highly suspect that CTU is behind the attack on
the Los Angeles Chinese Consulate and kidnapping Lee; Jack is having a difficult time dealing with Audrey's grief and anger
over Paul's death; Marwan moves up the hour of attack.
What's Up at the White House: Novick and Palmer are deliberating
on how to deal with China after the Chinese Consul was killed in the ambush headed by Jack. Palmer tells Novick that the United
States government must continue to deny any part in it. In addition, they're trying to keep President Logan in the dark regarding
the incident for as long as they can. Meanwhile, Cheng, head of security at the Chinese Consulate, is scrutinizing the security
tapes of Lee's kidnapping. They see that one of the assailants has his mask pulled up for a split second and they freeze the
frame so they can identify them. Sending the image to Bejing, they are able to theorize that the identity of the man is CTU
agent Bern. Cheng phones Michelle at CTU to question her. After Michelle denies that CTU had any involvement Cheng goes to
a higher source-the U.S. Secretary of State who then phones President Logan and informs him of the circumstance. Logan is
furious that Palmer authorized the attack and kidnapping at the Consulate, realizing that now he is also going to have to
deal with negative relations with China. Novick convinces Logan to let Palmer continue doing what he's doing because Logan
cannot do it by himself.
What's Up With CTU: Buchanan is notified that Cheng is visiting CTU to question them.
When Cheng arrives Buchanan ushers him into the conference room with himself, Jack & Curtis. Jack is a pro at covering
up the operation and is convincing in his denials. Then Cheng shows him the picture of agent Bern and without skipping a beat
Jack claims the photo has been doctored and that the image could be one of hundreds that weren't cross referenced. Cheng wants
to question Bern but Buchanan says he's not in tonight. Jack sees Bern just outside of the conference room and fakes an urgent
call so he can leave. He gets Bern a chopper to get him out of the state before Cheng can question him. Next, Cheng wants
to look into Jack's claim that he was working with Audrey during the kidnapping. Audrey's brought into the conference room
and confirms she was with Jack. Cheng doesn't buy the story because he knows about the situation with Paul and believes Audrey
was with him, not Jack, during the kidnapping. Audrey claims that Edgar was aiding her and Jack. Afterward, Buchanan is to
get rid of Cheng. On his way out Cheng walks by Edgar and happens to hear someone say his name. He asks Edgar about Audrey's
claim and Edgar doesn't know what he's talking about. Cheng then phones Chinese Officials and tells them that he's certain
that Jack Bauer headed the ambush.
What's Up With Marwan: One of Marwan's man is working on jamming CTU's satellite
servers so they won't be able to find the missile. He's having a hard time because Chloe is working to stop them from jamming
the servers. Not wanting to take any chances, Marwan moves the scheduled launch time up one hour.
What's Up With
Jack: While the doctors are still working on Lee, Jack leaves the room and runs into Audrey who's sobbing in the hallway.
He attempts to apologize and to comfort her but Audrey can't handle him and tells him to leave. Jack is visibly upset. After
Palmer informs him of the Chinese Consul's death Jack begins working on the cover-up…all the while his search for Marwan
and the nuclear warhead is priority number one. When he needs Audrey's help in the cover up, Audrey is reluctant but does
what she has to do. Finally, Lee is out of surgery and Jack goes to question him. He doesn't know where the nuclear warhead
is located but gives Jack the location of where Marwan may be. Jack prepares a team with Curtis and they head out to the site.
Upon entering the site and shooting several of Marwan's cohorts, Jack runs smack dab into Marwan. He hits him in the head
with his gun and holds the gun to Marwan's head, looking like he's aching to pull the trigger. Marwan has a smug expression
and tells Jack to go ahead and kill him because his job is done. Curtis goes over to a laptop on a table and Jack has the
other agents secure Marwan. On the laptop is a live image of the nuclear warhead attached to a missile and the countdown clock
reads that it will be launched in 58 seconds. Jack sends the image to CTU hoping they'll be able to stop the launch. But it's
too late and Jack, Curtis and CTU watch in horror as the missile is launched and on it's way to an unknown destination.
Season 4: Episode 22: 4:00 AM - 5:00 AM
May 16, 05 The Scoop: Richard Heller is brought into CTU for a second round of questioning;
Tony & Michelle profess their undying love for each other and decide to leave CTU together after the day is over; the
missile with the nuclear warhead is somewhere in the U.S. hurling toward an unknown location on the East Coast; Mandy, the
sultry terrorist from past seasons, returns.
What's Up at the White House: Although the national terrorist threat
is at a category one level, Palmer doesn't want to alert the public about the impending nuclear attack. He wants to wait until
they're sure the disaster cannot be thwarted and at this point they don't even know where the missile is or where it's headed.
The Secretary of State is suspicious of what Palmer's role is because he senses Logan isn't up to par for the task. The Secretary
of State is next in line to fill in for the President; hence he feels he should be the one, not Palmer, to take over if Logan
is unable to lead the country. Realizing that the Sec. Of State could cause a problem, Logan holds a conference for congress
with Palmer. Palmer takes over answering most of the questions and when the Sec. Of State challenges Palmer for overstepping
boundaries, Logan agrees and dismisses Palmer of his assistance. It's only afterwards that we realize Logan, Palmer &
Novick, in order to get the Sec. Of State off their backs, staged the whole thing.
What's Up With Jack: Jack
is questioning Marwan at the warehouse trying to get Marwan to tell him where the missile is headed. He tries convincing Marwan
that he'll be able to talk to the President and get whatever it is he wants if he'll stop the attack. Marwan has no desire
to negotiate in any way and refuses to talk. Jack decides to transport him to CTU where he can put a bit more pressure on
him. Jack has 2 agents walk Marwan over to the CTU van while he and Curtis head to their own. Just then a rocket launcher
whips past them and hits their vehicle causing it to explode. Marwan's people have several snipers placed outside of the warehouse.
The 2 agents who were transporting Marwan are shot and one of Marwan's men hops into the van escaping with Marwan. Jack frantically
calls CTU to track them but CTU loses them because of interference and because they ditched the van they were in and escaped
into another getaway car. With Marwan having eluded them yet again, Jack and Curtis head back to CTU.
What's Up
With CTU: Edgar is going through Marwan's cell phone usage and finds that Richard Heller (Secretary of Defense Heller's
son and Audrey's brother) phoned Marwan last week. Chloe alerts Buchanan and Buchanan has a team immediately retrieve Richard
and bring him to CTU. Meanwhile, Tony informs Audrey that her brother is on his way in and why. Richard is brought in yelling
and struggling, crying that he doesn't know anything. Jack arrives to interrogate him and Audrey doesn't want Jack anywhere
near her brother. She pleads with Jack to let her talk to Richard first and Jack reluctantly agrees. Richard is unwavering
that he never phoned Marwan. Secretary Heller comes in to question Richard himself, telling Audrey to leave. Richard finally
reveals that last week he met a guy and a girl at a bar and brought them back to his place where they got high. He claims
that the girl must have used his cell phone to call Marwan while he was in bed with the guy (which is why he didn't want to
tell anyone about it.) CTU begins working on tracking the couple down and finds that they reside at an apartment complex in
L.A. A team is sent out headed by Jack and this time Tony goes with them, assuring a nervous Michelle that he'll be okay.
What's
Up With Mandy: Mandy is with her boyfriend when she looks out the window and sees a helicopter land nearby. She tells
her boyfriend that they've been found so one of them has to remain behind in the apartment while the other escapes. Then she
shoots him dead. Meanwhile, Jack works with his team and LAPD to surround the building making sure there's no way anybody
can escape. He and Curtis enter the apartment while Tony remains on the first floor. All of their communication is being monitored
by CTU. Jack and Curtis find Mandy's dead boyfriend and take his picture, sending the image to CTU so Richard Heller can identify
him. Meanwhile, Mandy is stealthily making her way through the building and grabs the LAPD officer working with Tony. She
holds a gun to his head and tells Tony to throw his gun away. Tony does it. She has Tony throw his radio over to her and then
has the cop handcuff him. Afterwards she shoots the cop dead and takes Tony as a hostage. Jack tries radioing Tony and when
he gets no response goes looking for him. He finds the officer dead and alerts CTU that Tony is missing and their communication
has been compromised so they need to switch frequencies. Michelle looks fretful as she orders everyone to prepare for a hostage
situation.
Season 4: Episode 23: 5:00 AM - 6:00 AM (SEASON FINALE Part 1)
May 23, 05 The Scoop: Mandy contacts Michelle and threatens Tony's life unless Michelle
helps Mandy escape; President Logan is beginning to doubt his decision to hand over the reins to Palmer; Marwan's mission
is almost complete.
What's Up at the White House: Logan is angry and despondent because the missile still hasn't
been located. He blames Palmer for making bad decisions, especially ordering the raid on the Chinese Consulate. Meanwhile,
Bern, the agent whose photo was taken during the Consulate raid, has arrived in San Diego and a van is ready to take him into
seclusion. Bern walks over to the car and is grabbed and shoved inside. In the car are Cheng and several other Chinese officials
ready to grill him about the attack on their Consulate. They take Bern to a warehouse and tell him that he is to tell them
who headed the mission on the Consulate or else he will spend the rest of his life in a Chinese labor camp with nobody ever
knowing where he is. Cheng asks Bern who was in charge of the mission and Bern says, "Jack Bauer."
What's Up With
Mandy: Mandy has Tony bound and gagged in an apartment. Seeing that the entire complex is surrounded, she knows desperate
measures need to be taken. Marwan phones her and asks what's taking her so long because she should be there by now. Mandy
says there's been a holdup but she'll take care of it. Then she calls Michelle on her cell phone and sends an image of Tony
bound and gagged. She tells Michelle that she'll kill Tony if Michelle doesn't help her escape by clearing the northeast driveway
of the complex. Michelle agrees but Mandy doesn't trust her and takes extra measures. She goes across the hall to a friend's
apartment saying she needs to talk. She shoots one guy and spares the lives of the other guy and the woman, telling them to
do what she says.
What's Up With CTU: Michelle is torn, terrified of losing Tony but equally terrified of jeopardizing
the mission if she lets Mandy, their only lead to Marwan, go. Buchanan comes in to talk to her and Michelle breaks, telling
him that Mandy contacted her using Tony as leverage. Buchanan calls Jack in the field to tell him. Jack tells Michelle that
she has to keep going along with it to make sure Mandy believes Michelle is cooperating. Jack has the northeast driveway cleared
and positions the team appropriately so they can ambush Mandy when the time is right. Mandy calls Michelle and tells her to
stay on the phone as she and Tony make their way to a parked car in the lot. The figures of a man and woman, presumably Mandy
& Tony, can be seen making their way in the rain over to the car. Jack is suspicious as to why Mandy is exposing herself
so openly. Just as the couple gets into the car, Curtis prematurely tells the team to move in. Mandy tells Michelle that she
sees her men and they'll never get them alive and the car explodes. Michelle screams in horror believing Tony was in the car.
Now with Mandy apparently dead CTU has no more leads to Marwan and to the missile and efforts to coordinate relief after the
bomb hits are in order.
What's Up With Jack: Buchanan calls Jack and tells him and team to get back to CTU because
the field operation has failed and is over. Jack refuses to believe that Mandy gave herself up so readily. He plays the tape
of the explosion over & over until he finally catches a clue. He orders the team into the complex. Meanwhile, Mandy (who
used her neighbors, the man & woman, as decoys) takes Tony and begins moving through the complex into the parking garage.
She doesn't realize that Tony has deliberately cut his barefoot on broken glass in order to leave a blood trail. In the parking
garage Tony attempts to disarm Mandy but fails. Then Jack comes in pointing the gun at Mandy. Mandy holds her gun at Tony's
head and asks Jack if he's able to look into Tony's eyes while she kills him. Jack says, "Yes." Then Curtis comes from behind
her and knocks her out. Jack hurriedly phones CTU telling them that Tony's alive and Mandy's in custody. Jack tells Mandy
she'll get a full pardon from the President if she discloses Marwan's location. After proof of her reprieve Mandy tells Jack
that Marwan is on the roof of a building taking off in a chopper just about now. Jack gives the info to CTU and he and the
team get into a chopper for their last chance to intercede Marwan and to find the missile.
Season 4: Episode 24: 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM (SEASON FINALE Part 2)
May 23, 05 The Scoop: Michelle and Tony are reunited; the missile is located without Marwan's
help; Chinese officials demand justice for the attack on their consulate.
What's Up With Marwan: Marwan is preparing
to take off and leave the country. Mandy was supposed to meet them but she hasn't shown up and he feels something is wrong.
The pilot starts the chopper and they're just about to lift off when the CTU chopper sidelines them. Jack shoots at Marwan's
chopper and succeeds in damaging it so it cannot take off. Marwan has a digital device at his feet and fires into it before
jumping out of the chopper and attempting to escape. Shots are exchanged between Marwan and Jack and Curtis is injured in
the process. Then Jack shoots Marwan in the leg preventing him from being able to flee. Marwan limps to the edge of the building
and hurls himself over. Jack grabs hold of his arm preventing him from falling. Marwan takes out a knife and cuts Jack's hand.
The blood makes Jack lose his grip and Marwan falls to the ground, smiling on the way down.
What's Up With CTU:
With Marwan dead the only thing left to do is see if he left behind any evidence as to where the missile is headed. They find
the device Marwan had shot up and although it's damaged, its contents are sent to CTU. Edgar & Chloe are able to decipher
what information they can and discover that the missile is headed straight for Los Angeles. Air force pilots are deployed
to intercept the missile. Jack and Curtis look into the dark sky waiting to see the missile. Edgar worries that if the missile
is shot down it may cause the nuclear warhead it's carrying to detonate. Jack says that's unlikely to happen but they must
take the chance. Finally, a pilot spots the missile and fires, taking it down. The attack has been thwarted.
What's
Up at the White House: Cheng contacts Logan to tell him that Bern has confessed and has named Jack as the head of the
attack on the Consulate. They want Jack to be handed over to them immediately and the White House has no choice but to comply.
Logan and security aide, Walt Cummings, are worried that once Jack is handed over to Chinese officials he'll break and admit
that he was working on orders from the U.S. Government. Cummings suggests that the problem would be solved if Jack were to
have "some sort of accident." Palmer is stunned at the notion and Logan won't think of it as an option. Later, Secret Service
agent Spaulding is en route to CTU to arrest Jack. Cummings covertly suggests that Spaulding needs to kill Jack. Unbeknownst
to Cummings, Novack overheard his conversation and tells Palmer. Meanwhile, Logan is relishing in praise for stopping the
nuclear attack. Palmer enters his office and Logan welcomes him saying he "played a part" in preventing the attack. Palmer
ignores his cockiness and tells Logan that he believes Cummings is going to have Jack killed. Logan refuses to acknowledge
it and says he'll have no part in the delusions and scandals that plagued the Palmer administration.
What's Up With
Jack: Soon after returning to CTU Jack encounters Audrey who's making arrangements for Paul's funeral. Jack hopes that
they'll be able to sit down and talk and work out their relationship because he truly loves her. Audrey looks sad as she tells
Jack that she can't be a part of his life. Immediately afterwards, Palmer calls Jack and tells him he's about to be arrested
and turned over to the Chinese government for imprisonment. Jack realizes he must never implicate the U.S. government and
swears that he won't. Palmer assures Jack that he'll make it his life's mission to get him out of prison. Jack is in the locker
room with Tony when Palmer calls Jack to tell him that the secret service agent who's coming to arrest him is going to kill
him. He advises Jack to get out of there immediately. Jack glances at Tony looking concerned. After agent Spaulding arrives
to arrest Jack, an alarm sounds throughout CTU. Tony runs in claiming that Jack cold-cocked him and is trying to escape. CTU
is in lockdown and Jack is in Section C. Tony goes with Spaulding to get Jack. Jack's hiding behind pillars and shooting at
Spaulding, Spaulding returns fire. Tony yells at Spaulding to hold his fire and he'll get Jack himself. He finds Jack lying
in a pool of blood already dead from one of Spaulding's bullets. Spaulding goes to Jack to feel for a pulse and feels nothing.
Buchanan, Chloe and Michelle come in and stand over Jack's body in awe. Buchanan and Spaulding leave to call the coroner.
Michelle quickly hands Tony a syringe of adrenaline that he plunges into Jack's heart. Tony gives Jack CPR until Jack begins
coughing and sputtering. They have to get him out of there immediately and Chloe leaves to intercept the coroner so they can
switch bodies. There won't ever be an autopsy because the government is responsible and they're better off with Jack dead.
Afterwards, Tony and Michelle drive Jack from CTU, dropping him off at a railroad track. They've secured a new identity for
Jack and a clean cell phone with a scramble filter. Jack expresses his gratitude and Tony does likewise. After Tony &
Michelle leave, Jack phones Palmer, thanking him and saying he's safe. They recognize that they will never speak again because
Jack Bauer is officially dead. As the sun rises, Jack slings his bag over his shoulder and walks down the train tracks.
